Day 6 began with the VBS Team preparing for the arrival of the Ute children. Today there were 8 Ute children and 3 Ute teenage girls came to volunteer as helpers. All three girls had attended Vacation Bible Fun in previous years.
The five-man construction crew (Gary, Steve, Paul H., Jack and Jim) began by making a stop at the hardware store and lumberyard for supplies. Then it was off to Towaoc.
Our first priority was to replace the main entrance steps. They were in bad shape and really needed to be replaced for safety. When we ripped out the old steps, we of course ran into unanticipated problems. Some things weren't straight, level or both. But, with God's help, we managed to work through the issues and it was all completed except for the bottom step and the stain by the days end.
