2015 Vacation Bible School
The 2015 Vacation Bible School was held on Sunday afternoon, August 2nd.
This year's VBS was a one day
event rather than the 5 day
event as in past years.
Registering the children are Jill Biller and Andrea Loft.
After registration, the children assembled in the sanctuary and
Pastor Steve opened Vacation Bible School with prayer.
The children learned about the Bible verse (Proverbs 3:5).
Gail and Kathy teach the children some words in Swahili, like "Jambo", which means "Hello" and "Asante", which means "Thanks".
Then it was time to do some singing.
And who better to teach the children songs than Steve & Pam.

"Mount Kilimanjaro"
After learning the Bible Verse (Proverbs 3:5), some Swahili words and singing
and playing of instruments along with some of the songs,
the children rotated between classes of learning, crafts and games.
Kathy & Tammy share storytime with the youngest group then pray with them.
After class, the kids enjoy some "playtime".
LuAnn & Cindy taught the next oldest class.
Here, LuAnn teaches the class about "trust". Trusting others and trusting God.
Cindy teaches the children about the Bible Verse, Proverbs 3:5.
The children crumple up pages with the Proverb message then
they must hurry to
unfold the papers and put the message in the correct order.
And the winner is...
Becky, Lisa and Deb taught the oldest group about their heartbeat.
Games
Mark, Angela, Regann and Jackson organized a variety of games for the children to play.
Children get final instructions from Regann & Mark.
Let the games begin!
With all that running on a hot, humid afternoon, those frozen icicles sure hit the spot!
But, you can't hide behind a tree from..."Camera Guy"!!!
Crafts
The crafts the children made were like stained glass hearts but
were made with paper rather than real glass.
The tags attached say, from Proverbs 3:5,
"Trust in the Lord with all your Heart ".
Becky, Roberta, Deb & Lisa observe as the children create their "Stained Glass Hearts".
Helping the children with their crafts are, Deb, Carolyn, Roberta, Cindy, Paige & Carlee.
After an afternoon of classes, crafts, games and singing,
Rita and Connie drew the names of six children for prizes.
At the end of the day, the children and their families were invited to enjoy
a meal of hamburgers, hotdogs and more.
LeRoy, Steve & Larry tend to the cooking of the hamburgers and hotdogs.
Smores! Who doesn't like 'em?
Well...Nancy sure does as she tastes the first sample!
IT'S TIME TO EAT!!!
The children, their parents, families and friends gathered in the Fellowship Hall.
Lord, we thank you for bringing these children to us & giving us the opportunity to teach them to Trust in You with all their Hearts. Bless these young lives that they may grow to follow You, Trust in You and & be Your disciples. Amen.
Thank You!
Thank you parents for allowing us to teach your children during their time at VBS 2015, at "Mount Kilimanjaro". We hope their experiences during VBS will be a lasting memory that they will pass on to others so that they too will Trust in the Lord with all their Heart.
